Overview
Ocean freight is the backbone of global trade - and the slowest mode to get right.
A container that misses a vessel cut-off doesn't arrive a day late; it arrives a week late, because the next sailing is seven days away. Meridian's ocean product is built around that single brutal fact: every booking is queued against vessel schedules, port congestion signals, and customs lead times - and rerouted in real time when any of them slips.
We hold direct contracts with the top twelve carriers, which means we negotiate space allocations rather than scraping the spot market. When the trans-Pacific is tight, you still get a slot. When it's loose, you get the rate everyone else hears about a week later. Either way, you see the same data our dispatchers see - no spinners, no phone trees.
Bonded warehousing at every major hub lets us hold cargo in a customs-controlled zone while paperwork catches up. Your container doesn't sit on the quay accruing demurrage; it sits in our yard, ready to release the moment clearance comes through.

How it moves
The ocean workflow
Quote & book
Submit a brief. Within four working hours you have mode-by-mode pricing and a sailing slot held against your name.
Origin pickup
Container arrives at the yard empty, gets loaded under our supervision, sealed, and queued for the next vessel.
Ocean transit
Vessel sails on a fixed weekly loop. Live AIS position feeds your tracker every six hours, with predictive ETA.
Destination release
Customs is pre-cleared in transit. Container discharges, gets picked up by our rail or road partner, and delivers.
Capabilities
What we move, and how
Every capability below ships under a single contract - no per-mode paperwork, no per-mode invoices. One coordinator, one tracker, one carbon report.

Why Meridian
Why teams choose our ocean product
Carrier allocations, not spot
We hold direct contracts with the top twelve carriers. When the market tightens, your slot still sails.
Pre-cleared customs
In-house brokers in 41 countries file before the vessel arrives. Your container discharges already cleared.
Bonded warehousing
Cargo sits in our yard, not on the quay accruing demurrage. Release the moment paperwork is ready.
Predictive ETA
We model vessel speed, port congestion, and weather. The ETA you see is the ETA you get - within six hours.
